Beginning on March 28, the cost of a ride from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv and back will decrease by 40%, following an agreement between Minister of Transportation Yisrael Katz and the Ministry of Finance.
The current rate of 55.60 shekels will be reduced to 32.50 shekels. Included in the price is a round trip between cities and two rides within each city. Passengers will be free to choose their preferred route and mode of transportation.
The change comes just days before the Passover holiday when roads are notoriously congested but might serve as an incentive for daily commuters to begin taking public transportation.
