The Eispiraten Crimmitschau test match on Sunday with the Bayreuth Tigers is canceled. As the Second Division ice hockey club advertises on its website, the hosts cannot provide a playable squad due to the current quarantine situation.
As a result, all but one of Bayreuth Tigers players currently in quarantine have tested negative for the corona virus. The only player who tested positive had significant contact with the first infected player due to the long journey together, so infection was to be feared. In consultation with the Bayreuth health service, the actors concerned must remain in quarantine as a precautionary measure.
The Ice Pirates’ home derby against Lausitzer Füchse in the Northeast Cup on Friday evening will go ahead as planned. (dha)
